Global funding cuts aren’t just financial setbacks—they carry real human costs, disrupting vital services for vulnerable communities and threatening the sustainability of critical programs. On April 11, 2025, AVPN hosted a webinar featuring experts from UNFPA, IOM, and Neartú Global to unpack these challenges and explore adaptive strategies.
The discussion highlighted the direct impact on lives and long-term development, with speakers sharing how their organizations are navigating the shifting aid landscape. The session also emphasized the power of collaboration within the AVPN ecosystem to build resilience amid shrinking international support.
The webinar drew strong engagement, with 143 organizations from 43 countries participating. Peter Levine, Founding Partner at Neartú Global, delivered a compelling overview of the funding landscape, sector-specific program closures, and donor responses. He also outlined practical ways AVPN members can step up, showing how Asian philanthropy is playing a growing role in addressing this global challenge.
